Alternating-Tread Stairs for Mezzanine and Platform Access
Alternating-Tread Stairs give a compact access path to mezzanines, elevated platforms, equipment areas and maintenance points where a conventional stair would eat too much floor space. Climbers place their feet on alternating sides of a steeper 56 or 68-degree stair, which shortens the span required. Welded steel frames carry bolt-on handrails on both sides and raised tread surfaces for grip, finished in powder-coated paint or hot-dip galvanizing with yellow handrails for visibility, and ship knocked down to hold down freight cost. All models carry a uniform 350 lb. capacity and meet OSHA 29 CFR 1910.25(f), with a dual safety chain gate standard at the upper opening and a self-closing gate available as an accessory.
