Cylinder Storage Cabinets & Stands

Cabinets, stands, and brackets that keep gas cylinders upright, secured, and organized.

Cylinder Storage

Gas Cylinder Storage Cabinets, Stands, and Brackets

Compressed gas and propane cylinders are heavy, top-heavy, and expensive to replace. Leaned against a wall or left loose on a cart, they get knocked over, and a cylinder that falls is a problem no matter what is in it. Every cylinder on site needs a place where it is held upright and secured.

This collection covers lockable steel cylinder cabinets, all-galvanized cabinets for outdoor use, propane exchange cabinets for 20 lb cylinders, and floor-mounted stands, bracket stands, wall brackets, and barricade racks for cylinders in use at a workstation.

Sizing

Start With Cylinder Count, Diameter, and Where They Sit

Cabinets are sized by cylinder count and orientation. The cabinets for USA sales hold 4 to 20 cylinders depending on cylinder size, the Canada-sales version holds 2 to 16, and the galvanized cabinets come in horizontal, vertical, and combination layouts for LP tanks stored on their side and acetylene tanks stored upright. Propane exchange cabinets hold 12 or 18 standard 20 lb cylinders.

For cylinders in use, stands and brackets are sized by diameter. Wall brackets fit cylinders 3 to 14 inches in diameter, bracket stands hold 2, 4, or 6 cylinders up to 12 inches, and the SACR-2 stand holds two 9 to 12 inch cylinders. Send us your cylinder count, sizes, and whether the location is indoors or out, and we will size it.

Lockable steel cabinets with expanded steel sides for stored inventory, with lag holes in the base and chains on vertical units to hold cylinders in place.

Propane Exchange

Stands and Brackets

Floor stands, bracket stands, barricade racks, and wall brackets that hold cylinders upright at the point of use.

Built In

What Holds the Cylinder

Lockable Doors

The storage and propane exchange cabinets take a padlock on the door, so stored cylinders are secured against tampering. Padlocks are sold separately.

Chains and Straps

Vertical cabinets include chains, bracket stands have built-in straps, and the SACR-2 stand uses a safety chain to keep cylinders from tipping.

Anchored to the Building

Cabinets have lag holes in the base, and stands have pre-drilled holes for permanent floor mounting. Wall brackets bolt to the wall.

Stored Behind a Locked Door

Stored Behind a Locked Door

Expanded steel sides show what is inside at a glance, while the solid top, back, and bottom and a lockable door keep the cylinders secured.

Vertical units include chains to hold each cylinder in place.

Held Upright Where They Are Used

Held Upright Where They Are Used

Bracket stands, barricade racks, and wall brackets keep active cylinders standing at the workstation instead of leaning against a bench.

Floor stands mount through pre-drilled holes; mounting hardware for some models is sold separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on cylinder size and whether they store vertically or horizontally. The USA-sales cabinets hold 4 to 20 cylinders, and the propane exchange cabinets hold 12 or 18 standard 20 lb cylinders. Send us your cylinder sizes and count and we will pick the cabinet.
The galvanized cylinder cabinets are all-galvanized to resist rust outdoors, with 8 gauge galvanized wire sides and an 18 gauge galvanized roof.
The galvanized cabinets come in combination layouts that store LP tanks horizontally and acetylene tanks vertically. Tell us how many of each you store and we will quote the right configuration.
It varies. The Canada-sales cabinets ship fully assembled, the galvanized cabinets require assembly, and knockdown versions of the USA-sales cabinets ship flat. We confirm this on the quote.
Not always. Wall brackets and bracket stands do not include wall or floor mounting hardware, and an anchor bolt set for the SACR-2 stand is optional. We list what is included on the quote.
Lead time is quoted per order, based on the models and quantities you choose.
