Security Shelving

Lockable, sliding-door wire shelving for restricted-access storage, built stationary or mobile on the same open-wire platform you already know.

Security Shelving

Security Shelving Units

Security shelving takes the same open-wire platform used across the rest of the wire shelving line and encloses it with sliding security doors and a locking point, so the shelving itself does not change but who can get to what is on it does. It is built for spaces where inventory needs to be visible and organized but not open to anyone walking by, evidence storage, controlled-access stockrooms, high-value parts, and shared spaces where more than one department pulls from the same room.

Units come stationary, on a fixed footprint, or mobile on a track system that lets banks of shelving roll together and open a single access aisle on demand, reclaiming the floor space every other stationary aisle would otherwise cost you. Both configurations are available in a stainless steel build for washdown or sanitary environments where painted wire will not hold up.

Fixed Footprint or Track-Mounted

Stationary or Mobile

Fixed Footprint or Track-Mounted

Stationary security units install like standard wire shelving, set the footprint, anchor it, done. That is the right call when floor space is not the constraint and you just need the contents locked up: a caged-off shelf run inside a larger stockroom, a dedicated evidence rack, a secure spot for high-value SKUs inside an otherwise open warehouse.

Mobile security units sit on a rail system instead. Multiple runs of shelving roll together with only one aisle open at a time, so the same storage capacity that would normally need an aisle between every unit fits into a fraction of the floor space, the tradeoff being that only one bay is accessible at once. Mobile makes sense when the room itself is the constraint: evidence rooms and secure stockrooms in older or smaller buildings almost always run mobile for exactly this reason.

Applications

Where Security Shelving Fits

Evidence & Chain-of-Custody Storage

Sliding doors and a single lock point keep evidence rooms restricted to authorized personnel while the open-wire shelves keep contents visible and easy to inventory.

Controlled-Access Stockrooms

Shared spaces where multiple departments pull inventory but not every item should be open to every person: security shelving segments the room without building a separate walled cage.

High-Value & Sanitary Storage

Lock down high-value parts and small-count inventory in a standard warehouse, or run the stainless steel build where the room itself gets washed down.

Why Security Shelving

Open-wire storage, locked down

Sliding Security Doors

Doors slide instead of swing, so the unit does not eat aisle clearance to open, and every bay locks at a single point instead of individual shelves.

Same Open-Wire Platform

Built on the standard open-wire shelf, so contents stay visible, dust does not collect on solid tops, and airflow moves through the unit like any other wire shelving run.

Stationary or Mobile

Fixed footprint when floor space is not the issue, or track-mounted mobile units that roll together and give back the aisle space every unit in between would otherwise cost you.

Built on the Platform You Already Trust

Built on the Platform You Already Trust

Security shelving is not a different shelf: it is the same wire construction used across every other wire shelving unit, with sliding doors and a lock added around it. That means the same load capacities, the same open-wire visibility, and the same airflow you get from standard wire shelving, just behind a door that only opens for whoever holds the key.

Because the shelf itself is unchanged, security units drop into the same footprint planning as any other wire shelving run: no special floor prep, no different anchoring approach, just a unit that locks.

Mobile Units Give the Room Back

Mobile Units Give the Room Back

A stationary shelving run needs an aisle on every side you access. A mobile run needs one aisle, period: banks of shelving sit on rails and roll together until you open the one bay you need, then close back up. In a room where floor space is the actual constraint, that difference is what makes the storage fit at all.

The stainless steel build carries the same mobile or stationary options into washdown and sanitary environments, where painted wire shelving would not hold up to the cleaning routine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Stationary units have a fixed footprint and install like standard wire shelving: the right call when floor space is not the constraint. Mobile units sit on a track system and roll together, so only one access aisle is open at a time, letting the same storage capacity fit into a much smaller room. Evidence rooms and secure stockrooms in tight or older buildings typically run mobile.
Each unit uses sliding doors that close over the open-wire shelving with a single lock point per bay, rather than locking individual shelves. It restricts access to the whole unit at once, which is what most secure-storage and controlled-access setups are actually built around.
We do not assert a specific code or certification here: tell us what the room needs to meet and we will confirm whether this platform fits or whether you need a different build (our DEA drug storage cages are a separate product line). Security shelving is built for general restricted-access and controlled-storage use cases; treat any specific regulatory requirement as something to confirm with us before ordering.
Footprint, height, stationary-vs-mobile, and the security hardware itself all change the build and the lead time, so there is no single price that applies across configurations. Send us the room dimensions and what you are storing and we will send a written quote.
