All prefabricated stair systems, handrails, and components are engineered, fabricated, and powder coat painted at the plant for a lasting finish and fast delivery. Stairs can be manufactured to spec, allowing for fully custom sizes, heights, layouts, widths, treads, and specialty metal handrail that meets OSHA and/or IBC codes.

Bolt-Together Components for Fast, Easy Installation

The bolt-together stair assembly allows for fast, convenient installation on-site. Components are fully fabricated off-site, so the system arrives ready for immediate assembly, with all necessary hardware and materials included. Full installation services are also offered for most projects.

IBC vs. OSHA Stair Requirements

Horizontal Run: IBC stairs have a horizontal run approximately 1.5 times the deck height, not including landings or handrail extenders, so a 10' high mezzanine deck would have an approximate 15' long stairwell. Risers & Tread: IBC stairs typically have a 7" closed riser and an 11" tread. Stair Width: IBC stairs are a minimum of 36" wide in most cases. Railings and Guardrail: IBC stairs require rails 42" high and handrails 34" high on both sides of the stairwell. Landings: IBC also requires an intermediate landing on stairwells over 12' high, as well as handrail extensions at the bottom landing.

Horizontal Run: OSHA stairs have a horizontal run, and the length of the stairwell, approximately equal to the height of the deck, for instance, a 10' mezzanine deck height means a 10' long stairwell. Risers & Tread: OSHA stairs typically have an 8" closed riser and a 9" tread. Stair Width: OSHA stairs are a minimum of 22" wide. Railings and Guardrail: OSHA requires railings on open sides of stairwells and a handrail on at least one side, preferably the right side descending, at 34" high. Landings: both OSHA and IBC require landings at the top and bottom of the stairs; IBC landings are larger, typically 4' square.
