These vertical plate lifting clamps handle steel plate in fabrication shops, steel service centers and warehouses, lifting and positioning one plate at a time with an overhead hoist or crane. A positive locking design grips the material until the operator pulls the release ring, helping prevent accidental slippage. The forged head and gear use hardened tool steel with serrated grippers, powder-coated for durability and built to ASME B30.20. Working load limits run from 2,000 to 6,000 lbs., with plate thickness up to 1-9/16 inches depending on the clamp. Use on clean steel plate up to 30 RC / 300 HB hardness; not for stainless steel or aluminum, and do not lift loads below 20% of rated capacity.
