Driver Cages & Building Access Cages

Driver access cages provide a secure entry point that protects both your facility and non-employee visitors such as truck drivers, delivery personnel, and vendors. By restricting access to active warehouse and production areas, these cages reduce the risk of accidents involving untrained individuals entering hazardous zones with forklift traffic or automated machinery. Additionally, driver access cages serve as a deterrent to unauthorized access to inventory and equipment, helping safeguard valuable assets and minimizing liability risks.

WireCrafters Driver and Building Access Cage

Typical Building Access Cage Configuration

Driver Access Cages, also known as man traps, are typically three-sided enclosures built against an exterior wall with a secured entry door. Constructed using WireCrafters’ Style 840 Wire Partition System, these cages feature heavy-duty 10-gauge wire in a 2″ x 1″ rectangular mesh, providing robust industrial-grade security. Standard sizes range from 6′ x 6′ to 8′ x 8′, with custom configurations available in one-foot increments to fit any space.

Each cage is usually outfitted with a service window and shelf, offering a designated counter for drivers to sign and retrieve documents. A pedestrian hinge door provides access, with a full-width push bar on the facility side for emergency or routine exit. The interior side of the door includes a keyed lock to ensure that visitors remain confined to the secure area, maintaining controlled access and facility safety.

Control Building Access

WireCrafters Driver Access Cages offer a straightforward, cost-effective solution for controlling access to distribution centers, warehouses, and factory floors. By enclosing entry points with wire mesh partitions, these cages restrict truck drivers and visitors to a designated area, enhancing safety and security. Available in any size, they can be installed as free-standing structures or anchored to existing building walls to suit various layouts.
